Lovely Cambridge

Tuesday 10 July

I had my first train experience on my own today, my own personal hell.  Got to Kings Cross Station, lined up to buy my train ticket to Cambridge, got it and had 4 mins to get on the next train before it departed, made it and sat and stared at out at the countryside.  I got picked up from the station by Sandee and Elliot.

There are lots of awesome beautiful buildings in Cambridge, I have just a few photos for ya'll

you see pidgey on the box?

This tree is somehow related to Newtons
theory of gravity - maybe grown from the
seed of the apple.

Watching people attempting to punt

The Round Church

Coolest candy shop ever, think Charlie and the Chocolate
Factory where they have the batty singalong at the start

Cool staircase in the candy shop

Need I say more

Elliot's cousin Lucy was able to get us into a couple of Colleges (what the call uni) during her lunch break one day, so we went into Corpus Christi and around a bit of Kings College.  You can pay an entrance fee to some colleges to look around the grounds.  They are all very well kept and beautiful.

Kings College - the oldest uni in Cambridge

"The Backs" this street gives the best view of the back
of the unis - here is Kings College

Massive gates at the back entrance to unis

Live-in areas in a Corpus Christi uni we went into

Our sweet bikes we bought to get around
We biked from Sandee's house to Will and Lucy's new house which was in a little village just out of Cambridge (on the other side of town) so it was about a 30min bike.  We painted their front room over 3 days, it is to be the distillery for their brand of Cambridge Gin.

Lucy and Darcy

Coolest house with a windmill, couldn't
be too creepy as they were in the mill -
I will get another one...closer

Watching "The Bumps" on the river

We were very spoilt over the 2 weeks that we were stayed at Sandee's, we had our own room and delicious meals every night along with great company.  I really enjoyed Cambridge and we plan to go up there in weekends.
