"Holla City of Squala" - Mr Chow

Arriving in Bangkok, stepping off the plane onto that bridge walkway thing, you get engulfed in heat, that shit is WARM!  we caught the train (they give you these plastic coin tokens) to where we thought was near our hotel, can then caught a taxi the rest of the way.  That was the first scary experience of the crazy crazy driving they do over here, and we got ripped off on our taxi - pretty sure he took us around the block ... any ways we make it there in one piece, to the Chateau de Bangkok, it is so bizzar, there are all these nice hotels dabbled between unkept houses, it creates such a stark contrast.  checking in at concierge, the 2 people working were Gift (a lady) and Diamond ( a dude) , who showed us to our room, and then proceeded to try and sell us his friend as our personal driver for the next day to go and see the sights, we were like ah no thank youuu.  Headed up to the hotel's Panoramic Bar for our free drink, pretty sweet view out into the city,

Mmm Chang (it means elephant) beer

and we hit up a bar called The Witches for pizza and a jug of Margaritas (which had a little broom as the swizzel stick - so cute).  The Music was all english - they even played a Crowded House song!.

The next day (Thursday 31 May) we went and had breakfast in the Nana district at an Irist Pub.  We had a walk around, scwetting like a beast, there were a few roadside markets we had a look at.

Wires much - they sometimes buzz/humm

They have these outside most places, very pretty/intricate

That afternoon I had my freakout/culture shock big fat cry in the hotel, so we just chilled in the room.  We thought we'd go to some markets, fot in a taxi told the guy the place, turned down the road into rush hour traffic, and then Ell is like nah were getting out, they guy yells at us to pay him and get out get out, so we payed him and gapped, pretty sure he was drunk which is not ideal.  So we set off on foot just around our local hood, there were lots more food/market stalls and i got my first handbag, a real Jimmy Choo thank you very much.  Cough.  We had a kebab for dinner, delicious indeedy and went into Strikers Bar for a Chang, Ells new fav beer.  Looking around when we are drinking Ell says  I dont think this is the right bar for us, I start to actually pay attention to what is going on and it was pretty asian women and older men playing pool or having a drink together...... ahahahahaha!!!
